The Langham, London holds some glorious secrets inside that must be freed. So, we’re sharing these sumptuous event spaces with you – our friends and followers…
The Langham special secrets inside (and out)
Mark, our client services director, has been shown all the sites, smells, and sounds of the luxury London venue, The Langham. While it encloses boardrooms and ballrooms to lend distinction to any meeting or event, it also has some extra special delights…
The sauciest space
In The Langham’s Sauce Kitchen, you can host up to 12 people for individual cooking for partnered cooking you can host 24 (two people to a hob who cook together).
Sauce is fun and informal, and it’s super flexible – it can provide all manner of bespoke classes to suit your event tastes, and taste buds.
Its most popular option for a private event is the ‘Crash Course’. This class is a 2-course cooking class, with a third course if required – which lasts about 3 hours.
And here’s what’s on the menu:
- Guests arrive to a glass of Champagne while they complete the health and safety forms
- Guests move to the kitchen to prepare the first course
- Guests sit down in dining room to enjoy the dish prepared
- Back to the kitchen to cook the second course
- Guests sit down in dining room
- If you opt for three courses, dessert is in the dining room
This crash course masterclass is designed so that everyone is cooking the same dish. When it comes to dietary requirements, if you have a vegetarian for example, the Sauce Kitchen can usually just swap the meat/fish element.
If you have a vegan guest, they will usually adjust the entire dish. If you have several vegan guests? In this case, the team recommends everyone prepare a vegan menu. This just means everyone enjoys the same experience with limited disruption or delays in plating up your guests’ resulting culinary artistry.
Additionally, snacks of crisps and nuts are served during the class. Each guest is also provided with all recipe cards and ingredients, ½ bottle of house wine per person, and some fab branded mementoes – Sauce aprons and tote bags.
The price of the packages varies depending on the number of people, and the number of courses you choose for your guests. And they’re all great value.

Check into The Langham’s tavern
The Wigmore is The Langham’s tavern-style outlet, also open to the public. Housed in a former banking hall, it’s a modern space, full of surprises. Sink your teeth into hearty pub fare reimagined by Michel Roux Jr (you’ll never taste such a divine cheese toasty!) And sample great wines, cask ales, or The Wigmore’s very own “Saison”.
The Wigmore’s tables extend out into its Summer Terrace and Garden. This beautiful courtyard garden is the ultimate city garden complete with wooden benches, pergola and fresh greenery.
Imagine lounging out here with someone serving you everything from refreshing G&Ts and Provence Rosé to a mouth-watering Masala spiced scotch egg, new dishes like buttered lobster roll, or that XXL cheese toasty. We know, we keep going on about this toasty, but… mmmmmm.
Fancy this British Tavern for exclusive use? The team will consider a Sunday to Wednesday with a minimum spend, depending on the date.
Hidden outdoor gems
Next, Mark checked into The Langham’s two exceptional private outdoor spaces he knows your guests will enjoy.
- The largest is the Courtyard Garden, located at the back of the hotel and accessed directly from the Grand Ballroom. You can book this beautifully mysterious space in conjunction with the ballroom to give you a capacity of about 250 delegates for a standing reception. Dating back to the mid-eighteenth century, The Langham’s Courtyard Garden is one of the oldest private gardens in the West End. The South-facing oasis is perfect for relaxed networking sessions or intimate gatherings!
- The smaller space is the lovely Terrace Garden which is adjoining The Langham’s Victoria Room. This is an ideal setting for smaller receptions of up to 30 guests.
