“Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside”

Seaside Destinations for Your Conference or Event

The first thing that may crop to mind when you think of the British seaside is sandcastles and fish and chips. However, there are some brilliant corporate event venues out there with unforgettable costal views, lots of amazing amenities, and flexibility around your requirements.

Whether you’re planning a kick-off conference, away day, strategy meeting, residential or social event, there are lots of unique locations to choose from across England.

In this blog, we’ll explore some of our favourites, starting in Brighton.

Jurys Inn Waterfront is a quick walk to the pier and a venue that perfectly encapsulates the vibrant essence of Brighton. With eight meeting rooms, 210 air-conditioned bedrooms, and exquisite views of the world-famous pier, there’s a lot to love about this seaside hotel.

Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel was built in 1864 and is located right on the Brighton seafront. This Grade II listed building has original chandeliers and frontage as well as a high-ceilinged ballroom which is brilliant for all kinds of meetings and celebrations. With team-building, sea-view conference rooms and more available, it’s one of the best seaside venues in the country.

More Brighton-based locations include The Old Ship Hotel with its magnificent wine cellars, Brighton Dome, and The Queens Hotel.

The Imperial Hotel is Blackpool’s most prestigious hotel and regularly hosts celebrities from across the world. It’s also ideal for conferences, training, dinner dances and meetings from six to 600 delegates in its many highly opulent rooms.

The Boulevard Hotel is a five star hotel located at the New South Promenade at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It’s one of the finest seaside hotels in the country and features 120 high quality rooms with conference and event spaces for up to 200 guests.

Other notable locations in Blackpool include Village Blackpool and of course, Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The best place to start in Bournemouth is the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel, which features collaborative work environments for meetings and events as well as 10 newly refurbished function spaces. It’s perfect for teambuilding and features spectacular sea views in many of its bedrooms.

While not quite on the beach, the Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel is a mere five minute walk to Bournemouth town centre and International Convention Centre, making it a brilliantly situated venue. It also has superfast WiFi for all guests with five flexible meeting spaces for up to 200 guests for a day conference and 188 for a gala or corporate dinner among many other corporate event facilities.

Some more brilliant venues in the heart of Bournemouth include Hilton Bournemouth and Mercure Bournemouth The Queens Hotel and Spa.

Bliss Hotel in Southport was created in 2020 and offers 180 degree views across the shimmering Marine Lake and Irish Sea. It boasts stylish 70s insured décor throughout and is the true definition of the term, wildcard. With a fantastic restaurant, hotel, banqueting suite and more, it’s a superb alternative from the norm when it comes to booking your corporate event.

And a final seaside wildcard is Classic British – Dartington Hall, which is a social enterprise venue in Devon. Set in extensive grounds comprised of modern and ancient buildings, this is a glorious setting with many comfortable and well-equipped event spaces. From ten first-class meetings rooms for groups of up to 220, 50 bedrooms and brilliant multimedia equipment and WiFi in every room, there’s also a dedicated conference suit and on-site team with full technical support.

Then there’s the award-winning food served in private dining rooms or restaurant that help to make this venue sublime.
