The Bien Venue guide to rooftop bars in London this Summer

Summer is around the corner and when the sunshine is out it’s fair to say that our capital and its rooftop venues take a lot of beating, whether for client entertaining or relaxing with your team.  Where better place to be for soaking up those rays than several floors up with amazing views and of course a glass of fizz in hand.

Let’s review some of our favourite hotspots in and around this fabulous city of London. We hope it will give you something to get excited about.

Radio Roof bar-  ME Hotel – 336 – 337 Strand, London WC2R 1HA

The bar menu at the Radio Rooftop is pricey, but what you are really paying for is the unbelievable city views you get from every angle. Situated on the 10th floor of the ME Hotel, from here you can see The Shard, The Tate Modern, Somerset House, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s and the London Eye to name just a few of London’s iconic sights.

The ME Hotel is a one stop shop for accommodation, dining and entertaining, and so is perfect for a large party booking, although table reservations are a must. Exclusive hire is also possible.

Golden Bee – Shoreditch.

If you prefer yourself as an East London hipster and want to avoid central London prices, then look no further than The Golden Bee in Shoreditch.

With its stylish comfortable sofas, fire pit and views across the local area, cocktails and weekend dancing are a speciality. A cinema club that runs all through Spring and Summer adds to the attraction of this hotspot lounge bar.

Madison – St Paul’s

If after work drinks and a perfect place to watch the sunset are on your agenda, then The Bar at Madison with its rooftop terrace is the place for you. In the heart of St Paul’s with the most magnificent view of the cathedral, you really can’t get much more picturesque. A busy place Monday – Friday it’s a great networking space serving lush cocktails and tapas that can’t fail to please.

The OXO Tower Bar – South Bank

For endless views of the Thames the The OXO Tower Bar is the number one hotspot (it is quite literally a sun trap). It is quite easy to watch the world go by from the 250 ft terrace as you wrap your hands around some of the best cocktails in town! Opened in 1996 this is an ideal space for client entertaining.

Sushi Samba – 110 Bishopsgate

Located on the 38th and 39th floors of Heron Tower, Sushi Samba is the place to be for Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture and cuisine. With 360 degree views of the City from both its outdoor terrace and cool orange indoor restaurant along with its famous orange tree, this venue provides a wealth of all-weather photo opportunities. Don’t forget your cameras!
