The TWA Hotel, JFK: The Ultimate Event Space for the Aviation Industry
If you're planning an event for the aviation industry and want a venue that does more than just tick boxes, the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport might be the most on-brief location on the planet.
Built around Eero Saarinen's landmark 1962 terminal, designed for Trans World Airlines and commissioned by Howard Hughes, the TWA Hotel is a fully restored slice of Jet Age glamour. It's been called the coolest hotel in New York City by TIME, and the king of airport hotels by The Points Guy. More importantly for event planners, it offers 50,000 square feet of flexible event space, 512 ultra-quiet guestrooms, and a setting that your delegates will be talking about long after they've landed home.
Why it works for aviation
Most venue shortlists look the same. The TWA Hotel doesn't. As the only on-airport hotel at JFK, it sits at the heart of one of the world's busiest international airports, serving 70+ airlines and 62 million passengers a year. For guests flying in from across the globe, the logistics couldn't be simpler, step off the plane, take the AirTrain, and you're there. No taxis, no transfers, no turbulence.
The building itself tells the story of aviation better than any themed decor ever could. The sweeping white concrete shell, the iconic flight tubes, the vintage Solari split-flap boards, the 1958 Lockheed Constellation parked on the tarmac outside, it's immersive in a way that feels effortless rather than contrived.
The spaces

The centrepiece is the 11,000-square-foot Constellation Ballroom, with soaring 21-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling hangar doors that open for a dramatic reveal. Combined with the adjacent Landmark Hall pre-function space, you have the largest exhibition venue in the area, accommodating up to 1,200 guests for a reception or 125 exhibition tabletops.
For something more intimate, the Sunken Lounge, where crowds once gathered to watch The Beatles arrive in the United States, seats 220 for a reception, with penny-tiled banquettes, a customisable Solari board, and uninterrupted views of the Connie on the tarmac.
Speaking of which: Connie herself is available for private hire. The renovated cabin of the 1958 Lockheed Constellation accommodates 75 guests for a VIP cocktail reception, or you can take the entire tarmac for up to 2,000 people. There is genuinely nothing else like it.

Other highlights include the rooftop infinity pool and observation deck overlooking Runway 4L/22R (200 guests, open year-round), the Paris Café overseen by Jean-Georges Vongerichten (semi-private dining for up to 150), and 45 flexible meeting rooms ranging from intimate boardrooms to the full Event Center.
The detail that makes the difference
The TWA Hotel isn't just a memorable backdrop, it's operationally strong. Dedicated on-site event planners, day-of support, AV and teleconferencing throughout, a kosher kitchen, and 5GB Wi-Fi across the building. The Solari board can be customised with bespoke messages for your event. The TWA Shop can supply branded merchandise as guest gifts. BLADE helicopter transfers from Manhattan take five minutes and start from $195 per seat.
It has won more awards than we have space to list, from Fast Company's Innovation by Design Award to TIME's World's Greatest Places. It was shortlisted by the James Beard Foundation. It hosted the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 fashion show.
